Are you one of those people that complain about everything? Do you complain because the line at the grocery store doesn’t move fast enough to suit you? How about the old guy driving in front of you? How about the line of traffic blocking your exit up the way a bit? What about those nasty comments you made about a co-worker or your boss? Where do you think that energy goes at the end of the day?
Haven’t you learned yet that your thoughts married to your emotions create a message that is pumped out through your heart into the Universe? Don’t you know that message is a just like a command executed on a computer; it’s one purpose to bring you what you have issued forth?
Like the replicator on Star Trek, what you ask for is what you’re going to get back. It’s not your words that do that asking! It’s your vibes, dudes, yep-that energy that you’re putting out there-that’s what creates your reality.
Not your parents, not the guy who beat you up in grade school. Not the rapist or the bad politician. YOU! You alone are responsible for what you think and feel. You alone are the only one who can live your life. Your parents can’t crawl inside your head and make your lips move to say those words. You may tell yourself that and believe it as well, but you’re only fooling yourself.
You Can Change Your Life
It just depends on how much you really want to. I’ve noticed over the last few years, with all the hullabaloo about the movie, The Secret, that most people think all they need to do is have a thought or two, evoke an emotion or two, and that should be it—they manifest their desire, a car, a house, a mate, whatever.
Instant manifestation, that’s what they’re into, without any effort on their part. For the most part, this won’t work. This kind of attitude will simply bring more of the same. Same old, same old—whole lot of nothing.
The law of attraction works, it’s always working, but it responds to your unspoken vibration, not just your words. You can’t fool the universe. You can say as many affirmations as you want, but if you’re forcing yourself to say the words you’re just paying lip service.
Quit The Lip Service
The Universe responds to your vibes, not your words. It’s just common sense. If you feel bad, you’re gonna get bad delivered right to your doorstep. Whatever you’re putting out is what you’re going to get back. Nothing more, nothing less. You might be saying all the right things, but your attitude sucks. When your attitude sucks, so will your life.
Where do you put your energy? What are you into? What makes you happy? Can you feel that feeling? Add that feeling to your positive affirmations and watch how quickly life can change for you.
Give Up Your Sad Story
I don’t want to hear your sad story. Just get over it. It’s time to move on. Everybody has had something bad happen to him or her; most everybody has a sad story. The point is this: as long as you keep telling your “sad” story; you’ll keep getting that showing up in your life. Are you over 21 and living away from home? So why are you still blaming your parents for your miserable life?
Your parents came from folks even less evolved than we are. Don’t you get it? It’s no more their fault than it is yours. But it is time to take responsibility.
You must remember that we are NOT what has happened to us. We are not “our stories.” We are divine children of the Universe and what happens to you is what you’ve been conditioned to believe is your lot in life. So you keep creating it over and over and over. It’s time to get a new map.
Look at all the famous role models of today; just pick any one of them. Most of them will tell you they had a rough childhood. Most of them will tell you a story that could put your sad story to shame. Most of them will tell you that at some point in their life, they made a decision. They made the decision that they were going to be different. They would succeed, where others had failed. The Paris Hiltons of the world are few and far between—besides, who would want that kind of life anyway? C’mon and admit it—she got famous, not for her grandfather’s business acumen, but because she was rich AND a video of her involved in an intimate activity was unleashed on the internet.
What Kind of Reputation Do You Want To Have?
Yeah, that’s what I want to be known for the rest of MY life. NOT! You are the Star on the Stage of Your Own Life! There isn’t anyone who will live your life for you. No one can. It’s not possible. So quit blaming your parents, your spouse, your children, your boss, your company, or whomever else you’re blaming. Stand up right now and take responsibility for what you’re thinking and feeling.
You can change the negative thinking, negative emotions; the—I’m—not—good—enough stuff in your life. You can say STOP to that nasty little internal critic; that negative self-talk that’s always there to remind you that you’re simply not fit enough, or smart enough, or pretty enough, or rich enough or, frankly, ANYTHING, enough. You have to take charge of that voice.
Just tell it to STOP and then replace it with something positive. Write a list of all your good qualities, write a list of all the things you are thankful for—make that a daily practice and watch how quickly your life will change. When you get up in the morning, go to the mirror and find something good to say to yourself. Practice saying good stuff (and meaning it) to yourself over and over and within a very short time, all those things you dreamt about, start to show up in your life.
I don’t care how old you are, how young you are, or what’s going on in your life right this moment. Simply make a commitment to yourself to stop the negativity, stop the complaining, stop telling stories of how horrible it was growing up and take charge of your life. Look for something good.
Can’t find anything good in your life? How about the simple fact that you’re walking on top of the ground instead of being buried under it. Start with that.
Give thanks for the little things, one at a time and watch how they multiply.
Go ahead, start right now. I dare you!
I double dare you!
